Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 concerning batteries and waste batteries will bring about significant changes in the European Union’s approach to battery sustainability, performance, safety, and waste management. The regulation came into force on 18 August 2023. 

The BMTA is excited to be exhibiting at MACH 2024, the national exhibition for inspiring, innovating and connecting manufacturing.

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the University of Manchester are bringing together government, industry and technology leaders to understand and explore quantum technologies and how organisations can prepare and utilise this disruptive technology into strategic plans.

The ISO 26262 Functional Safety Training and Certification Program (FSCP) is a personal certification program. The program trains professionals to have complete understanding and updated technical knowledge of the safety related systems that the standard accounts for.

Whenever a measurement is made there will always be some uncertainty about the result due to unavoidable errors in the measurement process. Knowledge of this uncertainty allows a judgement to be made as to whether the data are likely to be ‘fit for purpose’.

Delegates taking this course will gain robust understanding of the laboratory management requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and be able to identify the various responsibilities for overall laboratory management.

The aim of this beginner course is to train you in the fundamental principles of functional safety and to gain competency in the application of functional safety standards certified by TÜV SÜD. The course includes instructor-led modules (with discussion and practical exercises), followed by a open book exam.

Local technology consortium Smart Nano NI, formed to further the development of smart manufacturing in Northern Ireland, has launched the largest 5G testbed in Northern Ireland in Derry-Londonderry. 

Led by the industry trade body Make UK, the day offered a chance for UK manufacturers to open their doors and demonstrate the opportunities available across the sector.
