CE recognition legislation update

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has announced its intention to legislate to continue recognition of current EU requirements, including the CE marking. The DBT will also implement fast-track UKCA and labelling measures for a range of products. 

Minister, Kevin Hollinrake MP has laid before Parliament the draft affirmative legislation The Product Safety and Metrology etc (Amendment) Regulations 2024 on Monday 15 April. This legislation remains in draft as it is subject to the affirmative procedure and will therefore be debated in both houses. You can find this draft legislation here

The legislation has been laid to continue recognition of current EU requirements, including the CE and reversed epsilon markings and to implement the fast-track UKCA measure.
