NPL would like to identify three of four precision engineering businesses with a strong measurement culture, willing to take part. NPL will work with the businesses to select the most appropriate and least intrusive measurement techniques as indicators of downstream quality issues. NPL will work with the business to capture representative data sets and then train a bespoke machine learning algorithm that will be deployed to identify a specific quality indicator. Processing will be contained in a secure cloud server and all data will remain the property of the manufacturing business.
NPL will of course provide support to the businesses to make sure commercial and legal issues are taken care of properly.
