The BSI (British Standards Institution) is seeking public input on two new British standards currently in development. These standards, which will support the revised Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations (FFRs), are expected to become the first national standards to be designated since Brexit. Early input is crucial in shaping these.
The BSI and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) have circulated the Scope and Purpose of these standards on the BSI Standards Development website for public comment. The two standards under consideration are:
- BS 7177-1:202x
- BS 7177-2:202x
The deadline for comments is Monday 10 March.
