Babcock Marine Laboratory Group's principal task is to support the company's ship building & repair and marine engineering work-streams. However, we can also undertake direct external work, as capacity allows, so making our skills available to the wider business community. Fields covered are Chemistry (including asbestos identification and air quality analysis), Metallurgy (materials testing and failure investigation), and Calibration (electrical, nucleonic, metrology, pressure and temperature). We have UKAS Accreditation for Chemisty and Metallurgy (Testing Lab No 0687) and Electrical Calibration (Calibration Lab No 0254). Our calibration scope has now been extended to cover ionising radiation monitoring equipment.
