To develop and, when appropriate, represent the interests of the Measurement and Testing Industry in the United Kingdom; |

To provide informed comment and suggestions on National Measurement System programmes organised by the National Measurement Office. |

To promote wider interaction within the Measurement and Testing Industry and with other bodies such as the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (DBIS), the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and the BSI Group |

To represent the European interests of the British Measurement and Testing Industry by arranging representation on EUROLAB via the EUROLAB UK consortium. |

To promote education and training in the fields of measurement and testing. |
